This week we had to react fast... The expired Visa was a problem

The expired Visa

This week I had a special case with our nursing staff that I would like to tell you about. One of our nurses had the problem that her visa for Germany was about to expire. This is of course a problem, because the visa would also mean that the permit to work in Germany would have expired. The logical consequence would have been to return to the Philippines. So we had to act quickly to prevent the expired visa from ending all our dreams.

Of course, you don’t have to bury your head in the sand in such a case. Of course, dealing with the authorities is always difficult. Even if our nursing staff speak sufficient German and we also provide help to improve in this area, the vocabulary used is of course not necessarily the one you need with the authorities.

The expired visa has been renewed

In a case like this, we are always happy to help directly and made our way to the immigration office together. Everything went smoothly and a new visa was issued the day after it expired. I was particularly happy for the carer, who wrote a thank-you message for me on Facebook. I was very touched. Here is the original text:

“Would like to extend my sincere thanks to Hr. Gerald Uson Arndt and to @Transcura for a smooth and fast processing of my working Visa. Without them, I cannot work further here in Germany. (My Aufenthaltstitel -Working Visa just expired yesterday).

Please continue to help and support my fellow nurses here in Germany. Mabuhay po kayo!

Just a short story:

Mr. Arndt is a half Filipino, half German. First, when I decided to transfer to another work place last June, he and his supportive Agency took over all my Documents and stuffs necessary for my transfer. It was smooth sailing from my Umzug to where I’m working right now.

Fast-forward, processing the working Visa is difficult in big cities like Duisburg. You cannot easily book an appointment because there’s no available date for the next 3 months. Yesterday, my Aufenthaltstitel (working Visa) expired, and I was hopeless because technically, I’m illegal here in Germany.

What he did was that, he personally accompanied me to Ausländerbehörde without an appointment. He fought for my right to have my Fiktionsbescheinigung and to be able to continue working here in DE.

Thank you so much again, Gerald! Salamat, Kabayan!”

It really never gets boring in my job, but it always remains very varied. And when I receive feedback like this, I’m always touched and know that I’ve chosen the right path.
